Smallwood Manor Preparatory School is a co-educational 2-11 independent day school and nursery.

A Woodard School, Smallwood began its life at Denstone College, our Senior School, in 1902. In the 1930’s the Preparatory School moved to our present site at Smallwood Manor in Uttoxeter.

Set in beautiful landscape gardens, surrounded by gently rolling banks of woodlands on the Staffordshire-Derbyshire border, Smallwood Manor is a truly inspirational place for little people to learn and grow. Thirty minutes or less from Ashbourne, Derby, Burton, Lichfield, Stafford, Stone, and Stoke, Smallwood has a large catchment area for families looking for the best start in life for their children at a school renowned nationally as a centre of excellence in Christian education.

Smallwood has a fine modern chapel and a choir which sings regularly in music festivals and local churches. 

The Headmaster is a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) and a team inspector with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
