    Educational excellence
    We work hard to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, encompassing the traditional academic subjects of maths, English, French and science, as well as art, drama, music and sport.  Not only is this tailored to meet each pupil’s ability, but our class sizes are small, ensuring that every child gets the one-to-one attention needed to reach his or her full potential. We are OFSTED registered and have been rated good and often excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) which rates independent prep  schools in Staffordshire and across the UK. What’s more, many of our pupils go on to receive scholarships for their chosen senior schools.
    Modern methods with traditional values
    We adopt proven modern teaching methods and combine these with the traditional Christian values of good manners, respect and responsible behaviour to provide all our pupils with a dynamic learning environment.  This ensures that our pupils are well rounded individuals who thrive both academically and socially and are equipped to deal with any situation both in and out of school.

    Smallwood Manor is an inspirational place where young lives blossom. Our prep school classrooms are based in the old manor house, surrounded by landscaped gardens, woodland and extensive sports fields.  This is complemented by a pool, gym, stage, spacious art block, ICT suite, library, wildlife garden, music block and Chapel. For younger pupils, Smallwood Manor’s award-winning nursery and pre-prep facilities are situated in the quadrangle, a totally enclosed unit designed to encourage learning through play. There’s also plenty of outdoor play areas, including a living willow area, woodland, and adventure playground.
